There are several subjects which are always near to heart, true for most of us, right? Woman in leadership is a one such topic for me. I can write a number of pages on this and I will never be tired and bored. I have so many things to share on this topic because I strongly believe every woman is a leader. Some women are playing vital role as a leader in their family life and others in corporate life. Some of them are sports star, and some others are doing a fantastic job helping others, working with NGOs and taking care of society. For me, the lady working on roads, selling vegetables and fish and the lady doing odd jobs is a leader too. In this post, we are talking about actions that can make a difference in Women around you.
My thoughts on Women Leadership and Empowerment
A girl symbolizes delicacy and beauty. But the same girl turns into a powerhouse when she has to manage home, kids, in-laws, her own health, interests and her professional life. Believe me, if you are a woman, you can do all this together! And if you are already playing multiple roles in your life, pat your back first. Bravo! You are a leader! And every woman is a leader.
However, I never believe and support the thoughts of “Man-less-society”!! Weird, right? These days, I read frequently how girls are labeling all men are bad! No, That’s wrong! The world is never complete with only men or women. Rather, they both are equally important and complement each other.
The good part is, society is changing and they are accepting women as leaders in every field. Women are getting more support, respect, love and acknowledgement from society. I agree, in some areas, it has just started, but believe me, if you will take small actions, you can make your Wife, Mother, Sister, Your staff a true Leader. Just small actions required.
Here are the actions you must take on!
Support and Empower Your Mom, Sister and Wife: When your mom says, she wants to do something from home, support her. Ask her ideas and help her to set up some business or activity at home. Always remember, earning is not the only motto that everyone works for! Earning money and spending your own money is the experience that Your mom wants to have! And she deserves it. Same way, you can support your sister, wife or even girlfriend if she wants to take on something new! Even if your wife, mom or sister took on job, support her and encourage her.
Acknowledge Female Staff Members at Your Organization: If you run a company/organization, you can make a difference while empowering your women staff. Train them to manage their family and work in a better way. Women always love to learn something new. You can organize some skill development seminar at your organization. Give them opportunities to grow while offering better opportunities.
Give Respect and Acknowledge Every Woman You Meet: A very basic thing! And sadly people miss on this point. If you ask me, I respect my Maid, Cook and even the lady who comes to collect the wastage and garbage every day! And Why not? You just think about the world with no maid, no cook, no lady to collect your garbage, wastage! You will go mad!! They are doing a fantastic job! Then Acknowledge them. I even hug my cook, Sangitaben! I even serve lunch to my maid and that too when I take lunch with family. I never feed her leftover food! And believe me they feel so good. They love me a lot.
These are small actions. But they can make a difference in someone’s life!
